Life changes. Your plans shouldn’t have to stop.
Hi, I'm HC, and I created WivMe because of something I noticed in my own life.
As you get older, life has a way of getting fuller. Friends have children, pets to look after, demanding jobs, different routines — and sometimes you do too. Suddenly, getting everyone together for a gig, a meal out or even a walk can feel like organising a major event.
Then there are the times you're away from home, in a new city for work or visiting somewhere unfamiliar. You might have an evening free and plenty you'd love to do, but nobody nearby to do it with.
And sometimes it's much simpler than all of that: your friends are wonderful, but they just don't share your taste in music, fancy that theatre show or want to try the restaurant you've had your eye on.
I've found myself in those situations. Not because I don't have people in my life, but because having friends and having someone free for the same plan aren't always the same thing.
It got me thinking. How many other people were looking at the same gig, the same film or the same event, thinking, “I'd love to go, but who would I go with?”
That's where WivMe began.
I wanted to create a space where you could start with something you genuinely want to do and find someone who fancies it too. Post a plan, discover someone else's, have a chat and decide what feels right for you.
WivMe isn't about replacing existing friendships or forcing awkward small talk. It's about making the most of life as it is now, meeting people through shared interests, and having more moments worth remembering.
We're a growing community, and there is room for you in it. My hope is that one day, when you see something you'd love to do, the question won't be “Who can I persuade to come?” but “Who wants to come WivMe?”
