Privacy Notice

Last updated: June 2026

This notice explains what information WivMe collects when you register for launch, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. We've kept it plain and short on purpose.

We keep your launch registration details for 12 months from the date you register, or until you create a WivMe account — whichever comes first — after which they're deleted, unless you have opted in to marketing.

Who is responsible for your information

WivMe is the data controller for the information you provide on this site. WivMe is currently a pre-launch project. If you have any questions about this notice or about your information, you can contact us at support@wivme.app.

What we collect

When you register for launch, we collect only what we need:

  • Your email address, so we can contact you about WivMe.
  • Your city, so we can gauge interest by area and tell you when WivMe is coming to yours.
  • Your confirmation that you are 18 or over.
  • Whether you've chosen to receive marketing (this is optional and off unless you tick it).

You can also choose to share a few optional details — the kinds of activities you're interested in, a different city if yours isn't listed, how you'd use WivMe, and anything you'd like us to know. These are entirely optional and only used to help shape WivMe.

We also automatically record technical information such as the time you signed up and your IP address. This helps us prevent spam and keep a record of when and how consent was given.

Why we use it and our legal basis

We use the information you give to manage your launch registration: to record your registration, understand demand city by city, and let you know when WivMe launches in your area. Our legal basis for this is your request to register for the WivMe launch.

If you tick the marketing box, we'll also use your email to send you WivMe news, updates and offers. Our legal basis for that is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How long we keep it

We keep your launch registration details for 12 months from the date you register, or until you create a WivMe account — whichever comes first — after which they're deleted.

The one exception is marketing: if you have opted in to marketing, we'll keep your email so we can continue sending you WivMe news and offers until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time, and every marketing email will include a way to do so.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We use trusted service providers to run the website and handle waiting-list sign-ups on our behalf, and they only process your information on our instructions. We may also disclose information if we're required to by law.

Cookies

This site uses essential cookies needed to make it work, and — only if you agree — optional cookies for advertising and measurement. You can accept or reject optional cookies when you arrive, and change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access — ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Correct — ask us to fix anything that's wrong.
  • Delete — ask us to remove your registration information.
  • Withdraw consent — opt out of marketing at any time.
  • Object or restrict — ask us to stop or limit how we use your information.

To exercise any of these, email support@wivme.app and we'll take care of it. You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above.
